Introducing the
Nelson Family

Welcome to the Nelson family blog! In August of 2006 we arrived in
Guadalajara, Mexico to begin our work here in church planting.
Our desire is to use this blog as a means of communicating
with our loved ones and those who support and pray for our ministry
here in Mexico. The following is a brief outline of who we
are.
Our Background:
Both of us have a rich heritage from which to draw on. Dan grew up as an MK (Missionary Kid) in the countries of Honduras and Costa Rica here his parents worked in starting numerous churches. MeLinda was born in Guatemala and when she was 15 her parents moved to Mexico to expand their church planting ministry there. This heritage has given
both of us not only a fluency in the Spanish language but also a deep love and appreciation for the Hispanic people and culture.
For the past 14 years we have been working in the Denver area starting two churches among Hispanics which are now being led by Hispanic pastors and are continuing to thrive. During that time Dan was also involved in helping give leadership to a church planting movement with the Rocky Mountain Baptist Conference focusing primarily on starting cultural churches. He had the opportunity to be involved in the planting of
churches among Hispanic, Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese, and Arabic communities.
We have been appointed by the Baptist General Conference to be career missionaries in Guadalajara, Mexico. Our vision is to change lives and transform communities which do
notpresently have a gospel witness. We will do this by starting healthy churches which are able to reproduce themselves. We also have a vision to be a catalyst in seeing a broader church planting movement developed in Mexico. We desire to work with the national leaders to develop the systems and strategies to multiply the planting of churches.

Hey it’s great to see and hear from you all again. Got the newsletter. Can’t believe Diana blew out her knee again + surgery. Would love her email to keep in touch. Will continue to pray and support our favorite Missionary Family!
I take it Adrian went back to school? I thought he was being homeschooled? Is Diana coming back to MN for a visit again this summer?
Love. The Wymans
